Happy Easter

Seems just like yesterday that I was talking of my first Easter away...ho hum...

I was so excited to wear white pants to church today - I bought a new hot pink shirt a while back and couldn't wait to get dressed up for service - cheesy, I know, but that's just me :) I love seeing everybody in their pastels and florals for this time of year!

I was fortunate enough to have my 'other' Iowa friends join me for service today and that made me feel so good - they're like family in a sense and had moved here about two weeks after I did last year.

The pastor spoke a great sermon, which I have billed the 'reminder' sermon for myself. It reminds me of why Jesus died for me, reminds me of how thankful I am, and reminds me that sometimes I am guilty of being a Doubting Thomas. Drives me nuts at times, but I'm just being honest. We go through hardships and wonder why God would do this to us, etc., but I think God puts us through those things for our own good. He doesn't leave us even though we think that He does... (guilty again)...

After service, my friends invited me to their house for brunch and an Easter egg hunt with their kids, which was hilarious! By the time I left, they were so jazzed up on sugar that I think I left at the right time :)

The weather is perfect - sunny, highs around 75 and just beautiful - it's a glorious Easter if I do say so myself! I hope you enjoyed your time with your family and friends....
