Pet Peeves

When I was in the shower this morning, I got to giggling about random things that bother me.... nothing major, but you know how things can irritate you and it just makes you grit your teeth or roll your eyes? Like, why do people DO the things they DO?!

Well, here are just a few of my pet peeves...

The sound of fingernails being clipped - gross.

When people leave their turn signals on when they're going around the loop to get on/off the interstate...um, hello, i know you're going left - we're all behind you in a semi-circle...

Going to a public restroom where numerous stalls are available and somebody sits RIGHT next to me. This usually happens at work with me and then I can't go because they're invading my privacy.

Toothpaste left in the sink - and yes, I'm the one leaving it, but when I'm in a hurry to get to work, I don't think about washing it down. Then when I get home, there it is - all crusty - to greet me.

I don't like it when people tell me what kind of a mood I'm in when really, I'm just thinking or concentrating on something. For example, 'Wow, you look really ticked off or upset' - no, that's just my face.

Hair in the bathtub drain. (Again, all me, but still a pet peeve!)

People who don't hold the door open for somebody older than they are... R-E-S-P-E-C-T...

Getting cut off in the grocery store checkout line.

Let me know what YOUR pet peeves are - just so I know I'm not the only crazy one!

*The cutting fingernails or toenails is one of mine as well.

*Nose picking.

*Now that my hair is long again having to cut the hair out of the vaccum "rollers" so it will work again!!! Yuck.

*In NC you can turn Right on red at intersections - so when people do not turn Right on red when "all's clear" burns me up.

*Over-development, gated communities.

*People who do not take care of the environment.

*Litter on the sides of the road.

*Gum chewing, smacking and popping.

*Gum on your shoes - especially during the summer when you have on a cute pair of flops or sandals and the gum is really nasty and soft!!

*Poking fun at accents or one's heritage.

*People who believe the way "we do it around here" for anything and everything. Basically thinking activities should be done the way they are done from where you come from or else; or it's wrong; or it's odd.

*Guilt tripping.

*Snooty people. My aunt was right - never be snooty, humility is a wonderful thing because someone, somewhere will always be smarter than you, prettier than you, or more successful than you.

*Women who look at me like I have three heads when I say I am a stay-at-home mom.

I could go on and on Marce. You are not odd or alone with your Pet Peeves.

Bad drivers
Rude waitresses/baristas
People who only talk about themselves and are completely unaware of anyone else or any other perspective.
Christians that in no way shape or form reflect Jesus.
People who talk through movies and previews
grouchy adults who work in child care
when people call but don't leave a message
hmmm there are more. I know it. Maybe I'll think about this and come back again! ha ha

I don't remember how I came across your blog. I found it interesting because I seem to have gone the opposite direction as you. I left Cali and ended up in MN.

My kids play ice hockey. A huge pet peeve of mine is the black holes on the team, (puck hogs) They feel they are to good to pass the puck, there for we lose the game. That one really makes my blood boil.

Being from Cali I have a hard time with slow drivers.

Yes, the public restroom one I agree with too.

Tooth brushes left on the bathroom counter. Bathrooms are filled with germs.

These are just a few of my pet peeves.

Have a great day and try not to be annoyed.

*People who don't take the headers off the top of the emails they forward....as if I want to see the 200 other people who have received the same thing.
*Come to think about it, RECEIVING emails with "Fwd:Fwd:Fwd:Fwd:Fwd" in front of it!
*Certain teenage boys who leave things on the counter, such as plastic food wrappers, pizza boxes, the blue plastic ring from milk, empty packaging from medicine....because apparently the trash can 5 feet away is too far.
*People who drive about 10 mph under the speed limit and you can't get out from behind them.
*The saying "it is what it is".
*Little yippy dogs.
*Kaley says she doesn't like the sound of someone filing their nails.
*People who don't flush the toilet in public restrooms. (UGH!)
*People who don't wash their hands in a restaurant bathroom. (Eww, they're actually going to go EAT?)
*People who have to stand and chat with the cashier when there is a big long line behind them and only one register open.
*People that open packages and eat things in the grocery store while they are shopping.
*Itchy bras!
*The foil lid-covers inside of ketchup bottles that you have to pry up with your fingernails.
*My husband's beard trimmings that get left all over the bathroom sink!

Oh, I have another pet peeve: grackels & starlings that come & take over the bird feeder in my yard. I have such wonderful little birds who come to eat--sparrows, juncos, finches, cardinals, robins.........and then these big dudes show up & chase everyone away. THEN there's always one that sits on the edge of the feeder & flips seed out with his beak/head down to the others down below, who are sitting on the ground waiting! I hate that. It's like they are some kind of "bird gang" that ruins the fun for everybody else! I will have to check for little bandanas.....

People who forward emails with 6 pages of forwards before you get to the message, why can't they just delete them before they send them to me? Send me the email, I don't need to know whom all this has been thru prior to arriving in my inbox.
The turn signal thing, you are out in the middle of oh lets say, Wyoming, middle of the night, noot a headlite to be seen for miles, my students would turn the signal on miles ahead of their turn..WHY? Why use it period, we are all alone out here!!!
People wholeave their hi beams on while driving during the day..they are just as annoying in the daytime as at night..maybe worse!
The IHSAA for not impementing the 3 pt shot in high school years before they did..Im tellin you again, I coulda been Larry Bird before the world knew him and his short shorts!!!! ( : Kev
